Room Rules

How rooms, voting, and roles work
No account requiredEveryone participates anonymously. Just enter a display name and join — no email, no password, no tracking.
Votes are privateNo one can see anyone else's vote until the host reveals them. No anchoring bias.
Host controls the roomOnly the host can reveal votes, start the next round, and remove players by default.
Host transfers on leaveIf the host leaves, the role is automatically passed to the next player in the room.
Roles are optionalRoles (Dev / QA / PO) can be disabled when creating a room. When enabled, Dev and QA always vote; PO can be restricted in settings. Anyone can join as a spectator (watch only) regardless of role settings.
Round history is savedEvery completed round is saved in the history panel. The host can download the full history as a CSV at any time.
Sessions are preservedRefreshing the page rejoins you automatically with your name, role, and vote intact.
Room limit is 50 playersUp to 50 participants can join a single room at the same time.
Keyboard shortcuts built inPress R to reveal or hide votes, and / (or Shift+?) to open the keyboard shortcuts panel.

Frequently asked questions

Is Play Scrum Poker Online free to use?Completely free, with no hidden costs, no subscription, and no account required. Just open the app, create a room, and start estimating with your team in seconds.
Do I need to create an account?No. Everyone participates anonymously — just pick a display name and join. No email, no password, and no personal data is stored. Close the tab and you leave no trace.
How many people can join a room?Up to 50 participants can join a single room at the same time. Whether your team is 3 or 30, everyone can vote simultaneously without any performance issues.
Can I create a room without roles?Yes. When creating a room, uncheck the "Use roles" option and all role labels (Dev, QA, PO) are hidden. Everyone joins as a participant and can vote. You can still join as a spectator (watch only) at any time using the "Watch only" option.
Can non-hosts reveal votes?By default only the host can reveal and reset votes, but this is fully configurable. In Room Settings, the host can allow others to show estimates, start the next round, or remove users, giving the whole team more control.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?Yes. Press R to instantly reveal or hide the current round's votes. Press / or Shift+? to open the full keyboard shortcuts panel listing all available shortcuts.
What happens if I refresh the page?Your session is automatically preserved using your browser. When you return to the same room URL, you will be rejoined instantly with your name, role, and any vote you had already cast still intact.
Which deck types are supported?Play Scrum Poker Online comes with Fibonacci (the most popular choice for story points), T-Shirt sizes for high-level effort estimation, Power of 2 for engineering teams, and fully Custom decks where you define any values that suit your workflow.
Can I export round history?Yes. Every completed round is saved in the Round History panel inside your room. The host can download the full history as a CSV file at any time using the Download History button.
